The Association of Industrial Unions and Transport (APZD) welcomes the decision of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the SR for the Recovery Plan and the Knowledge Economy to increase the financial resources for calls focused on research, development and innovation.

The APZD perceives the government's decision as a signal that Slovakia is beginning to think strategically, with an emphasis on future value rather than just short-term effects. It is an important step that  brings concrete support to companies with real innovation potential and represents the best way to strengthen the economy.

According to the APZD, investments in innovation are key to Slovakia's future competitiveness, productivity growth, exports, retaining a skilled workforce, and the country's technological sovereignty in a rapidly changing global environment.

Measures of this type also have a high return. They bring higher tax revenues, wage growth, and reduce the country's dependence on foreign technologies. The state should continue with similar steps and link them with tax incentives and a predictable business environment.

Industry representatives also appreciate the commitment of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for the Recovery Plan and the Knowledge Economy, Peter Kmec, thanks to whom the evaluation process was carried out quickly, efficiently and transparently. According to the APZD, such an approach should become the standard, because it increases entrepreneurs' confidence that it is worth innovating in Slovakia too. Only in this way can Slovakia move closer to a knowledge economy that creates its own solutions and technologies.
