Unified assignments for final examinations for the 2024/2025 school year

Like in the previous two school years, this year too the Association of Industrial Unions and Transport (APZD), as a professional organisation, is participating in the unification of the assignments for final examinations in the fields of engineering, metalworking production and electrical engineering. Experts from schools and employers from practice will thus collaborate on the final wording of the unified assignments.

Even higher quality the third time around

We have been preparing the unified assignments for the third school year now, on the basis of Decree of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic No. 224/2022 Coll. on secondary schools, § 19 par. 3. The final examination in the apprenticeship fields must be carried out according to unified assignments prepared and approved by a guild or professional organisation.

In the 2023/2024 school year, representatives of the APZD, experts from the corporate environment, were delegated to the examination board for the final examinations. In cooperation with these experts and representatives of schools, we actively discussed the effectiveness of the unified assignments for final examinations. This allowed us to better understand the needs of practice and at the same time to contribute to ensuring that the final examinations best reflect the current requirements of the labour market and ensure a high level of preparation of graduates.

Respecting the unified assignments

Secondary vocational schools have the obligation to respect the unified assignments for final examinations of the given fields and cannot use topics developed independently at the school. This ensures uniformity in qualifications in the fields, comparability of knowledge and skills, reduction of the administrative burden on schools and above all adaptation to the current needs of the labour market.

In which fields will we prepare the unified assignments?

The Association of Industrial Unions and Transport, in cooperation with the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will ensure unified assignments, as in previous years, for the following fields:

• 2423 H toolmaker,
• 2433 H metal machinist,
• 2464 H machine mechanic,
• 2466 H 02 mechanic repairer - machines and equipment,
• 2487 H 01 car repairer – mechanic,
• 2487 H 02 car repairer – electrician,
• 2487 H 03 car repairer – body maker,
• 2487 H 04 car repairer – painter,
• 2683 H 11 electromechanic – high-current technology.
