Energy sector news for January 2025

In cooperation with the Association of Industrial Unions and Transport and experts from the law firm POLÁČEK & PARTNERS, we bring you another instalment of the regular monitoring of energy legislation.

• The following came into effect: amendments to the pricing decrees in the area of electricity, gas and thermal energy, the amendment to the Energy Act, as well as amendments to the rules for the functioning of the internal electricity market and the rules for the functioning of the internal gas market.
• We also draw attention to new legislative obligations for so-called operators of essential services and critical services in the energy sector.
• New items also include specifications and calls of the Environmental Fund and SIEA. Guidelines of the Ministry of Economy of the SR on compensation and subsidies for energy prices for 2025 were also published.
